On November 2, the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, Film Lab Palestine are organising over 500 Palestinian film screenings around the world. This global effort is a show of solidarity with Palestine, an act of amplification for censored Palestinian voices, and a contribution to shifting the distorted narrative. Varia joins with a screening of ‘When I Saw You’ (2012) directed by Annemarie Jacir.

Alongside the film screening Fairtrade Palestine will be selling a variety of products from the West Bank. There will be silkscreen solidarity shirts from Video for sale, food and drinks, anti-colonial, counter cloud zines and some access to a developing mobile library of a collection of books started by the Fuzzy Mirror Solidarity Network for Palestine.

All donations t-shirts, food and resources will go towards the Palestinian Red Crescent Society and The Sameer Project.

When I Saw You

In 1967 Jordan, 11-year-old Tarek and his mother, separated from his father during war, wait in a refugee camp for a return to Palestine. Restless and longing for reunion, Tarek discovers a group embodying freedom and hope.
