In this session, the eeefff collective presents the conceptual foundations and recent fieldwork of The School of Algorithmic Solidarity, an itinerant research project established in 2022 to explore emotions and affects shaped by technologies, the possibilities of solidarities in dispersed situations, to critically investigate digital colonialism and value extraction, to elaborate new circumstances through social experimental site, co-acting and collective ways to imagine - to aim towards 'infrastructures of imagination'.

Continuing the Miscalculating Risk series (Policing Technologies in The Netherlands and Supermarket Surveillance) together with Sanne Stevens, in this session we will focus on the increasing militarisation of everyday practices through their dependence on the Big Tech industry. We will look more closely into the mechanisms of imperialism and colonisation inherent to Microsoft products and discuss ways to organise in our homes, our work lives, and in institutions, towards divestment from these complicit technologies.
