"I was not speaking of marginality one wishes to lose, to give up, or surrender as a part of moving into the center, but rather as a site one stays in, clings to even, because it nourishes one's capacity to resist. It offers the possibility of radical perspectives from which to see and create, to imagine alternatives, new worlds." — bell hooks
Join us for a workshop on writing in the margins using Marginalia an open-source and free, collaborative article annotation and publishing platform. This platform foregrounds non-linear, messy, entangled knowledge creation using annotations, hyperlinks, scribbles, and more. It is for those seeking online space for communal learning, wild experiments in reading and writing, and intervening into the text to make room for themselves in it.
The workshop will be led by Arran Lyon, a creative technologist/coder, computer scientist, hacker and Senka Milutinović, a designer, researcher, writer. Both are a part of the ARK collective and have an interest in storytelling and knowledge creation with technology.
